Still Accepting A Limited Number of New Clients

Hi, my name is Mike.
I’m the owner and operator of Northbound Psychotherapy. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 12 years as a registered nurse, including seven in critical care, supporting people through some of life’s most challenging moments.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Laurentian University and my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I’m registered with both the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
I work with individuals and families who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or in crisis. Concerns may include trauma, PTSD, addiction, OCD, depression, anxiety, anger, self-harm, or suicidality, along with many other challenges. I support kids and teens struggling with big emotions, and adults worn down from carrying too much for too long. Together we focus on understanding the root of problems, challenging unhelpful beliefs or behaviours, and building practical strategies for day-to-day coping and more effective communication.
I draw on evidence-based approaches like CBT, CPT, EFT and DBT, but my style is approachable and down-to-earth. My goal is to make you feel like you're talking to a friend, or someone you've known for a long time.
When you’re ready, send me an email or give me a call, and we can talk about what’s been going on and decide on the next steps together. If it turns out we’re not the right fit, I’ll gladly help connect you with someone who is.
